Spikenard - Devotion & Worship - Scent: Spicy & Complex
The story of Mary anointing Jesus is told twice in Scripture, in John and Mark: "Then Mary took about a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume; she poured it on Jesus' feet and wiped his feet with her hair. and the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume." (John 12:3). Â Spikenard comes from a plant native to the Himalayas, making it rare, expensive and prized in Mary's day. Â Today, this fragrance reminds us that Jesus is our anchor, and we should pour ourselves out in worship of Him.
